  1. I arrived Thursday night, on December 16th. After noting that Alabama smelled kind of funny, there were rocking chairs at the airport, and that you don't have to punch in area codes to make phone calls, my mom, brother and I went out for dinner at Captain D's. After imbibing sweet tea and devouring fried okra, hush puppies, fried shrimp and fish, it still took a little convincing to remind me that yes, yes, it is good to be back. And it is.

Fred is overlooking maybe 1/3 of all of the clothes in this house... and I now have a full suitcase to take back with me. Woo! I feel like I'm at a whole new level of sophistication when it comes to clothes. It's really bizarre, I'll be honest.

Annabelle is the chubby sleepy dog that sleeps 90% of the time, and there's Max and Buddy who are chilling outside in the semi-frigid air. Yes, Alabama does get cold.

Oddly enough, it's overcast here. Yep. Unsurprisingly, the grey is a much brighter hue than it is in Oregon. But, you know how it goes. Tonight I'll get to (hopefully) see my oldest sister Michelle and I will be meeting my mother's boyfriend. :)

Tomorrow night is the Christmas swap with all of my siblings and their chilluns. I'm excited.

(Oh, and yes. I included the obligatory baby Jeni picture since it was hanging up in the kitchen.....)
